Heaven Help Us

Heaven Help UsHi all –

I was thinking after my earlier video to share an insider secret from this mama of reactive attachment disorder kiddos. What could that be? Tips for handling rages, love rejection, chronic lying, trauma affected brain stuck babies? Nope, this is how this mama is able to cope with the day in, day out of this situation. And it is…my love for Jesus and His love for me. Well, actually I love Him because He first loved me.

You see He adopted me and He loves me when I am unlovable (I know hard to believe that I could be unlovable, right?!). In fact, His love for me does not depend on what I do. It depends on what He did for me, which was and is forgive me of my sins. He never leaves me. He enfolds me in His wide open arms when my mama heart is aching for a child who longs to be loved and is so afraid of being rejected again that they just won’t go there.

His strength is what I draw on to walk this path which He has laid out for me. When I am doubting that He knows best, when I think I have gone ahead of Him or am doing what I want and not what He wants, He reminds me that He is the Blessed Controller. In the isolation of family and friends not being able to understand or knowing how to support me, He does.

So as He calms my worries, He gives me what I need to get through the day. Honestly, sometimes there are times that it isn’t what I want. In those hard moments, He is closest. Through His intimate moments with me, in His Word, giving me a much needed laugh, and hug, I know I am never alone.

And because of this love, I can pray for my kiddos and for you to also know my Rock and my Redeemer.
